New Blog Series Introduction: What I Like About…

My baby woke up more times than usual last night.  I had barely laid her down for the third time when my two-year-old woke up crying because she had wet through her diaper and soaked her pajamas and sheets.  I’m tired.  The summers where I live are too hot and dry.  I never seem to have enough time or energy to clean my house…

Doesn’t it sometimes seem as though our list of complaints is as endless as the laundry?  Doesn’t it sometimes seem as though it is so much easier to see and think about all the negative aspects of our lives rather than the positive ones?

John and I have been talking a lot lately about our need to focus on the positive.  We have been given so much.  What if we took the time to turn our thoughts to everything that is good in our life rather than look at and complain about what isn’t?

Yes, life is hard.  Yes, there are things in each of our lives that we do not like.  But what if we turned our attention to all the things we do like?

That is the inspiration behind this blog series – to turn our attention to what we like about various aspects in our life and in the world God has given us.

I would like to invite you to join me.  If there is a what-I-like-about topic you would like to write about and submit as a guest posting, you can type it up and send it to me, along with a picture and short bio, at  *Note: I do reserve the right to filter submissions for guest postings.  If you read a topic and would like to chime in with your own statement of what you like about it, please post it in the comments.
